I approached the design using a bold, uppercase, sans serif font and built the rest of the design around that.
The cross was inserted 'behind' the name to create a sense of depth and roots were added to enhance the concept of the name 'deeper'.
The sub heading was then placed neatly under the name to complete the composition and the whole design finished with a distressed style to evoke feelings of age and maturity.")

Here are the different parts of the firefly and how they relate:
antenna: music symbols (Music)
upper wings: palette knives (Painting)
lower wings: french curves (Architecture)
body: pen (Poetry)
legs: sculpture tool (Sculpture).
The colours signify a glow in the tail of the firefly which also reinforces the message of 'ignite' in the slogan.")

The complimentary colours of the orange and blue were used to create a feeling of energy and vibrancy.
The font was chosen for it's friendly and approachable style, yet remaining bold and confident.")

My starting point was to create the logo in a square, or box, as the company name suggests. I then added shadows to the letters to give the impression that they had a 'voice', enforcing the message of news, reporting and broadcasts.
The target audience for the logo was aimed at women aged 34–54, which was the reason for my chosen colour palette: bold, feminine pastels. The colours also represent fun and friendliness.
The logo was finished off with a simple, non-obtrusive font for 'NewsWire', clearly highlighting the nature of the business.")
