Upon reading the brief I researched 80s design specifically in California but quickly realized in order to capture the skate/surf culture feel I had to look at streetwear. I expanded on the reference materials provided with a moodboard featuring some gnarly clothing designs. Ultimately I based my design on an 80s Snoopy shirt I inherited from my dad (which features Joe Cool holding a surfboard and the word \"CALIFORNIA\" in stenciled letters underneath) and the \"Burly Gear\" label on an 80s Stussy letterman jacket I found online. The font is of my own design; I hand-drew it in Photoshop and then traced it in Illustrator.")

Process: Hand-drawn ideations with paper and pencil, then hand-drawn iteration in Photoshop, then cleaned up and colored in Illustrator.
Final design: Two glasses of scotch with golfballs in place of ice, one with the flag of the client's place of residence, the other with the flag of Scotland. \"Slàinte\" is Scottish Gaelic for \"health\" and is often said as a toast (like \"to your health\"). My aim was to make a fun conversation starter with subtle humor encapsulating all of the aspects of the trip.")
