NewsomeBlog.com needs a new website design

I am a consumer justice attorney and have a new blog that I'd like you to help me design. The new site (which is just a free Wordpress Theme I threw up) is located at NewsomeBlog.com. I would like to brand this sige "Newsome Blog", and the purpose of the site will be to share information with consumers and other attorneys about product liability, about consumer justice, legal marketing, and what I am doing in my practice on a daily basis. The site will be my personal/professional blog. To understand more about me and my law practice, please check out my law firm website which is located at NewsomeLaw.com. I'm proud of that website, and the video on the home page sort of tells the story. This is a website that we worked hard on, and has it's own blog. However, the blog and the site is for my law firm, and the new NewsomeBlog.com will be my personal site and separate from the firm. I will still be discussing legal and civil justice matters on Newsome Blog, but it will be more personal in tone and more wide ranging in issues than the narrow product liability only approach that the NewsomeLaw.com/blog blog takes. Moreover, NewsomeBlog.com will be written by me, personally, whereas the NewsomeLaw.com blog is written by my staff. Many thanks for your help in this process, this will be a very important medium for me personally and professionally, and I am sincerely grateful for your creativity and passion with this project!
Yes NewsomeBlog.com (existing site that this project will design) and NewsomeLaw.com (my law firm's website).
Inspirationen für Websites
AaronKellyLaw.com is a great design. Love it, love it, love it. Look and feel is FANTASTIC. Edit: Another blog and website that very much captures what I want to do is http://karenkoehler.com/index.html. Karen is a lawyer blogger and has, I think, a phenomenal site. MarlerBlog.com; I like the substance fo this site. Not crazy about the look and feel of this design. It's a little cold for my tastes and feels sort of uptight. But substantively, this site is a gem. LitigationandTrial.com; this is another legal blog that I like, in terms of substance. Not crazy about hte look and feel of the design.
Beschreibung der Seitentypen
Generally speaking, I think this project calls for four types of pages. For reference about the substance of the types of pages I'm thinking about, please check out the blog located at MarlerBlog.com. I'm not crazy about the look of the design at all however, I think the site is too cold and impersonal, but the 4 page types seem to work. For style, look and feel design-wise, my favorite site is AaronKellyLaw.com. That site is a full website which includes a blog (this design is for a blog-only), but the design is FANTASTIC. I would love to have something that cool for this project. As to specific pages, here are my general thoughts, but PLEASE know that I am open to any suggestions or modifications of this. I really want a site that is amazing and cool like the AaronKellyLaw.com site, and substance should follow form for this project. Having said that, here are my thoughts: 1. Home Page: navigation bar for home, Services, About Rich Newsome, Contact and Archives. Needs a subscribe button for RSS subscription, twitter, facebook and Google+ follow. Also needs a "Request Free Information" form on the right side of the blog. Can use a picture of me that I can supply, but a picture is not necessary. Would maybe like a "recent updates" list somewhere on the blog. And finally, definitely need a place for comments on the site. Again, in terms of the substance of the information I would want to convey on the Home Page, MarlerBlog.com seems to have it nailed (not design/look/feel, but substance only). 2. Internal/sub Pages: Need to have internal pages on the site, similar to the "Services" and "Topics" pages MarlerBlog.com has (again, refer to that blog for substance only in terms of the information it presents, not look and feel of its design). I'd also like MAYBE have a navigation bar somewhere, like MarlerBlog has on the left, where I can have Categories for sub pages that will be posts I will be writing. These Categories/Topics would include: Defective Tire Information.; Recalls; Defective Drugs; Personal Injury; Trial Advocacy; Civil Justice; Case News; Legal Cases. For now those categories should work... 3. Need a "contact" page. 4. Need an "archives" page.
My targe audience is three fold: consumers whose loved ones have been catastrophically injured by defective products; other attorneys who are looking to co-counsel a case with me because of my area of specialization; and finally, other people or professionals who are interested in the same things that I'm interested in, which is product liability law, legal marketing, SEO and internet marketing, and civil justice advocacy.
