TownLife
This design is for a new website for http://alturl.com/wvc8z - photos are available on their website to help showcase their town highlights which include a giant sausage, a new multi-million dollar downtown renovation, an international sausage factory, attractive downtown businesses with many services including a bank, bakery, pizza joint, grocery store, gas/convenience store etc. In the past their focus has been on their Ukrainian culture and agricultural history which can still be maintained.
Their target market is locals that are just getting high speed internet, nothing too flashy or Silicon Valley is wanted, we want to keep the small town look and feel. The design should be warm and welcoming not overly web 2.0/flashy.
Please go through the photo gallery to get a feel of the current art work posted around the town.
We are looking for a design to showcase this town in a more impressive fashion - they have had one image on every page since it was created, we would like to polish off the home page and introduce different banner images for each major page heading.
Layout will also be changed to 1024 with horizontal navigation for the parents.
Ensure your design includes a theme that is introduced on the home page with very little clutter, then continued on the internal page sample (including a footer with appropriate contact information).

The 2 pages we would like to see is (1) the home page and (2) the internal content pages with a sample image banner. The main tabs/navigation will not change, which currently include Community - Council - Services. The home page should showcase a better way to display their "latest blogs", "latest photos", and "latest events" as the current box style is functional but needs a new look.
Current site is http://alturl.com/wvc8z
Samples of what we are looking for can be found at http://alturl.com/qzr8k
We also enjoy the way the parents and children navigation is setup at http://alturl.com/u5dqd and would like to use that in our internal content page
