Climatefirst foundation is a fully transparent, action oriented, not‐for‐profit organisation dedicated to helping businesses and consumers easily and effectively engage in collaborative, practical and measurable sustainability projects. • Our aim is to make action on climate change simple and accessible to everybody. • Our mission is to represent a benchmark of ethical & measurable environmental action. • Our vision is to be trusted leaders in catalysing mainstream engagement with sustainability initiatives for long‐term social, environmental and economic benefits. Our initial project, currently called ‘The GOZERO Cup Campaign’, promotes sustainability by working with major coffee houses and consumers to deliver cost effective environmentally sustainable packaging. Unlike traditional paper cups that use a petroleum‐based plastic lining, the GOZERO cup uses a corn‐based plastic lining (PLA). Therefore, it is fully renewable and leaves a smaller environmental footprint. In addition we use micro‐donations built into the cost of each cup to support accredited rainforest conservation and carbon emission reduction projects. Every 1 million cups we sell will buy back and conserve 5000 square metres of Australian Daintree Rainforest, will protect and manage 10 hectares of prime Orangutan Habitat in Borneo, and will remove 1000 tonnes of carbon from the atmosphere through a Biogas project in Thailand. We have an opportunity to launch the GOZERO cups into the Australian Coffee Market. Initial rollout will be around the Brisbane CBD in collaboration with a mainstream coffee house. Current projections will see over 70,000 cups distributed per week. (3.6 Million/year).
Was ist Ihre Vision?
The initial brief is to develop a core visual identity for the cup label - – we need a design that can accommodate different messages whilst maintaining brand identity. So initially we are looking for 3 designs for the 3 projects we are supporting. The cup label design should represent the 'story' - see attached 'Design Brief'. Be creative in terms of the words and images that are used. A suggestion is perhaps the Illustrations can incorporate a plant and/or animal of significance from the relevant project. The cup labels that represent the various projects and general initiative should be instantly recognizable – ‘look, that’s one of those cups’. Whilst colors or design may clearly distinguish the 3 projects over 3 labels, the vibe should be consistent. The vibe should be positive, smart, new, honest - we encourage a 'fun' injection if congruous. We want the cup to take the viewers eye from afar, draw it into the story, and then around the cup in a direction to the 'punch line' - whether that may be within the graphic, or perhaps some text, or combination. We want to create some intrigue, raise questions, incite a desire to know more – The climatefirst.org/gozero URL runs needs to be included somewhere. The logos should not be too prominent - perhaps ‘stacked’ along spine of cup so as to leave as much space as possible for the illustration. The GOZERO cups are directed at urban takeaway coffee drinkers – the challenge is to raise awareness about the impacts of consumption on the environment and help individuals know that they are part of the solution to create a sustainable future. Micro‐donations in each cup make it easy to help the environment in a direct and simple way. We want to focus on the great projects we support and the environmental and social benefits that can be achieved by working together. GOZERO represents a journey we all need to take one step at a time. The brand essence is “i care”, our core pillars are Action, Connection & Trust (ACT).
Our strategy is to establish Climatefirst foundation as the platform for associated SubBrands, such as GOZERO. Future brands may include GO‐2, GoCommunity, GoGarden, etc. Our next project will see the implementation of prototype technology that calculates the carbon emissions of individual transactions. We report this information to consumers, at the point‐of‐sale, and provide an opportunity to ‘GOZERO’ and balance the consumption impacts. Individuals can direct their microdonations to specific projects and receive reports on their cumulative donations. The Climatefirst GOZERO PoS offset service will be available anytime people consume a product or service. There is no limitation on the range of marketplaces this solution can be implemented. All retail sales facilities are potential access points for climate action. Petrol stations, supermarkets, hardware stores, department stores, restaurants, cafes, bars – all can be ‘fitted’ with the Climatefirst solution to provide a simple, effective and ethical choice to help the environment.
