this is the basic synopsis:
Adventure Guides (formerly known as Y-Indian Guides and Princesses)
is a father/child program opened to dads and their kids beginning in
Kindergarten. Started in 1926, Adventure Guides is the oldest parent/child
program the YMCA has offered. Dads and their kids form tribes that meet
once a month in a member’s home where they sing songs, do crafts, and
tell stories. In addition to the monthly meetings, participants go to Camp
Hanes in the fall and spring for a weekend of archery, canoeing, Zip Lines,
and more! Each winter, the Guides (boys) come to the William G. White Jr. Family YMCA for a Lock-In, and the Princesses attend our Daddy/Daughter Valentines Dance, the largest in the Triad. By focusing on the formative, younger elementary ages, Adventure Guides seeks to foster and strengthen
the bond between a father and child. Registration for the 2010-2011 year begins on June 1. For more information on forming your own tribe and becoming a part of this program, visit our website http://www.ymcaag.org.
bottom line...its an awesome program for dads and their kids to spend not just play time together, but quality time together. its my job to help the dads look cool to their kids, which in turn makes the family stronger!
this may be a father/child program, but we all know that moms are the ones that rule the world! this needs to appeal to moms and to dads who have children who are rising kindergarteners or 1st graders (5 and 6 year old boys and girls). a lot of what we do is in the outdoors (camping, canoeing, archery, stories, songs, crafts, etc), so this cannot look baby. its got to look like "something my husband should do".

2 taglines ive used before are

those dont have to be used, but it gets the point across.
