Cities are big places and tastes are all over the map. While there's no shortage of local opinions online, it's still too difficult to find advice that relates to your (or your friends') own unique taste.
As a result you either end up having to wade through pages of user reviews, rely on just one editor's opinion, or go to the same places again and again.
Metropolist solves this problem with more personalized local advice. As you keep track of the places you like (and dislike) Metropolist begins showing you all sorts of customized information helping you make better decisions about how to spend your hard-earned free time and cash.
Metaphorically speaking, we're Pandora for cities.
Metropolist's target audience are active urbanites age 21-35 looking to make decisions with more personalized, relevant advice. They probably use sites like Yelp or New York Magazine (as a regional example) but often find themselves wading through the information and reviews trying to form their own opinion. They think of themselves as individuals with discerning palettes and enjoy spending time exploring their cities.
I currently have a logo and site graphics that are generally in-line with how I envision the site's branding (attached). However, I am not a designer by trade and these images need "sprucing up" and made more professional (for example, right now my images render sort of blurry but I don't know how to fix that). I am attaching a comparable image for this purpose but feel free to also be creative with other ideas.
Therefore, this contest is to update the logo images (logo_large.png, logo_small.png, tagline.png) in a more professional style using the comparison image (tumblr_icon.png) as a starting point. By "more professional" I mean high resolution, less blurryness, etc. Again I am not a designer by trade. Please keep the logo images the exact same dimensions and generally the same color palette.
Please note I have other site images that I would like the winner of the contest to update in a similar manner but I obviously have more flexibility for original design and a much larger budget, but let's discuss after the contest.
