Designer aus der ganzen Welt reichen kreative Designs für PathScale in Anderes Design - custom ein.
Compilers are typically seen as boring or don't get enough attention, but PathScale has for years been on the leading edge of performance. We need some static images that make our site reflect our high energy passion for driving great technology. Earlier this year we also started to strongly adopt open source community building and a new developer program. Our site needs some jazzy graphics which cater to a blend of our corporate and government clients as well as new and eager open source enthusiasts.
Our clients are typically large universities, government sites or researchers. We need to maintain corporate professionalism, but at the same time add energy to our site that conveys action ot the end user and gives a feel of performance.
Examples and stuff I visually like
------------
Clean nice background across the top behind the mozilla.org

Interesting background behind the squareFACTOR logo

Theme is too dark, but they get the correct concept. Clean background, large graphic that catches the attention and takes up most of the top fold for the home page. (Too bad their portfolio isn't as nice)

Nice visuals, but too busy and too much wasted space

Best example of clean background image, big center media that catches attention, but doesn't overwhelm.
Quite nice flash movie (flash not required for this project)

There's a bit of artistic license involved here so I'm giving high level overview. I will respond to questions very quickly to clarify or give feedback. Doing a full page mock-up for preview is fine, but end result must be images I can directly use and are optimized for size.
1) Background image(s) - One or more image(s) which will be behind all the other stuff on the site. Give the site the nice look and feel.
2) Large static center graphic (flash not required) - Should take up most of the top fold. Some text you can use is below. Items with * are optional

The partner logos will be eventually added so take that into consideration
Small size adjustments to the layout are fine, but please no radical changes.
Bonus points if all done by November 14th

Optionally - You have free license to adjust the colors on the site as needed excluding pink, green or dark theme. If CSS or javascript will need modifications please include those changes. (Maybe you decide to use a jquery effect or something)

For the winner this is more follow-up work to be had.
