This is an urgent project to design the basic color scheme for a racing car.
The racing car will race in Europe and feature prominently on Satellite and Cable TV.
The winning designer will be supplied with photos of the finished car racing in the winning colour design for their portfolio.
This is a quick and simple project for an experienced designer.
The colors that could be included in the design are:
Green – there is no reference for this but the nearest colour would be highlighter pen fluorescent green.
Green MUST be used within the design. The others are optional.
The design should use the green color to highlight specific elements of the car so that it is easily seen from a distance by the race team engineers as it approaches the pits. This could include for example, the rear wing/spoiler, the wing mirrors and the roof vent.
During the racing season panels, doors, wings and mirrors will need replacing through accidents and wear and tear. The design should therefore be easy to respray and align on new panels. Solid colors will also work better to carry sponsor logos.
TV viewers, sponsors and car engineers need to see car clearly amongst field.
The client does not want a design that includes a light car body and dark wing panels so a white or silver body with black wing panels would not work.
Designers should feel free to color the car in a way that achieves stand out including options such as solid green.
The front grille of the car must be black as this is the color it is supplied in and the grille is replaced on a regular basis.
We have attached a number of gif images to help the process:
Last years color scheme – the design and sponsor layouts used last year
Designs rejected – designs not accepted as the color design would be too hard to respray on new panels during the season
Car design elements – car labelled to show the individual elements to be colored
Starting point – car layout images to be used for layout of design
Car design with sponsors – car layout with sponsors logos applied to show how the color scheme will need to work with sponsor stickers applied
