This is an art sculpture for Burningman. This will be viewed by over 50,000 people! It is also possible photos of the project may end up on national news! Think how cool it would be if you were the graphic designer of the vinyl cover that goes on the outside of this huge sculpture. Encourage lots of color - BE CREATIVE!!

The project is a cube that measures 8 feet by 8 feet by 8 feet. Actual size of the art work will be about 7'11". It will have lights on the boarders and a ladder to the top on 2 of the sides.
The project is to design the exterior that will be printed on vinyl. There will be 4 side panels and a top (the top may be painted).
Submissions can change the logo - the design incorporates a piece of clip art and the font and color of each side. Each side will have a quote. In addition, there will be a place for people to deposit notes or wish-sticks (think something like a tongue depressor) that they write down thoughts or wishes. One side may have a longer Statement from the Artist.
The attached diagrams in the powerpoint file show some of the quotes and words -- (the quotes) may change based on the final design.
The Life Cube is a project inspired by my life experiences and travels. People journey to faraway places to visit natural wonders, temples, churches, and shrines for inspiration and reflection. All of us have hopes, dreams, fears, wishes and desires, many of which are communicated in venues like praying over a monk’s bracelet at a Buddhist shrine, shouting from a mountain top, or putting a message into the Western Wall. Specifically, we are dealing with values and beliefs that are important to individuals - who they are and what
they want to be and become. The Life Cube art project has been designed to emulate that experience for participants traveling the Playa.
