I am recording all of my classes for playback by students who can't make class in a particular month, and I am using the transcripts of those classes to write a series of primers on various VO subjects.
I'd like to have a designer create a responsive design (if possible) landscape-oriented Word docx template that I can pour the content into to then create a responsive (if possible) PDF file.
I'd like it to be styled after the VO2GoGo.com website. It uses the Minimalist WP theme from Elegant Themes. If I change themes, I'm happy to re-engage the winning designer to adjust the design of the books.
The construction of the books would be pretty straightforward: cover, front matter, TOC, chapters, headers, subheaders and body copy. There should also be a specific page layout for scripts. I could use a callout page, but I don't know that I'd use it. Illustrations should be easily inserted, probably something simple like centered between two paragraphs - probably not even a design consideration.
I'd love for it to look sleek, but ease of reading (I have some older clients) is paramount.
The finished works should all look like a cohesive series, with one common design theme, just different titles and content.
Each book is enumerated: the first is called 00: Getting Started in VO. The second is 01: Home VO Gear, and so on. The number should stand out on the cover page so that when assembled in a folder, they'd be clear from the thumbnails where in the series the reader is.
Also, I use American Typewriter Regular for my script handouts in class - it's reminiscent of old radio copy typewritten on a manual typewriter (without the distress of other "old typewriter" display fonts) and it needs to be easily read aloud. Whatever font you end up choosing for the body copy and the script copy, I will adopt for my class handouts.
The body copy should match the vo2gogo.com site as well - that's Trebuchet. The headers and subheads, as well as the logo, are set in Franklin Gothic Medium.
The book template should be designed for print as well as screen. I might be offering these books via print on demand.
I uploaded a version of my logo that I use in my videos - as well as the asterisk itself.
The asterisk in the logo is FF0000 - pure red. The vo2gogo is 000000 - pure black. The bg is a gradient, but the main bg color is e7e9eb.
Too much information? Just trying to be thorough.
