Y Heritage Logo Design Brief
Introduction: What is Y Heritage?
Kick the Dust is a funding source from Heritage Lottery. Y heritage will be working with both young people aged 16 to 25 and the Heritage sector within Leicester & Leicestershire.
The project will run for 3 years, but we hope for it to have a lasting legacy, changing the way in which the Heritage sector engages with young people and how the young people themselves perceive the Heritage Sector.
Expectations for the logo design
The young people themselves are key decision makers within this project that therefore they have put together some ideas of what they want to see within the design.
We are looking to design a logo which will encompass the need to appeal to a young audience, whilst accurately conveying the heritage root of the project.
The design of the logo will need to be flexible for use across social media and digital marketing and encourage individuals to share the logo.
Values to communicate
The logo needs to motivate and inspire, it is on trend to appeal to young people and not institutional. It has a retro feel with a classic look, fresh but not wild or childish.
Simple but effective. It could contain a small number of colours but also can be reproduced in white or black. It needs to be able to sit alongside the charity’s own logo and the HLF logo.
The young people have chosen some logos that they liked the look of as a guide (see below).
No particular colours but must be able to sit alongside the 2 previously mentioned logos.
One logo to cover two audiences:
• Heritage Partners – slick, direct, representative of the sector.
• Young People – fun, appealing, on trend and classy.
