A simple, friendly, accessible logo for use on our website, business cards, and print advertisements.
Text should be “neighboring.com” (probably most readable with the “.com” in smaller type). We're assuming all lowercase, but are open to it capitalized.
We want the logo to be relatively simple, clean, and easy to read at a glance. While our domain name has a single word it is a relatively long one, so we don't want the logo to emphasize the length.
We want the logo to be very accessible, because of our broad intended audience. We do not want the logo to have a feel that is “urban,” futuristic, or technical.
We plan to use the logo (or a version of it) in horizontal page headers, so a vertically-oriented logo will probably not work well. The logo should work well on both light and dark backgrounds.
Our brainstorming around art has brought up the following images: houses, people (neighbors), ovals/circles indicating proximity (like a radar sweep?).
We have primarily been looking at sans serif or script fonts, since we have found them easier to read at a glance. A couple that have looked promising to us are Yanone Kaffeesatz and Freestyle Script.
With all that said, we are VERY OPEN to your creativity and new ideas in trying to meet our stated goals.
Vector art PDF file required. Another vector-based source file (e.g. EPS or SVG) could also be helpful.
