We are currently working on a new media project with the aim to publish user generated content about sports. The project is specifically targeting a variety of sports and is therefore NOT just focused on main stream sports such as football.

* Interested in any kind of sports (active and passive)
* Professionals as well as members of the public
additionally also one of the following characteristics
* Members of sports clubs (from management to beginners and (semi-)professionals)
* Fans of sports clubs
* Sports journalists
* Local media
We are looking for a modern and professional logo that clearly contains the brand name "sportnews.net". As the project is focused on a variety of sports, it is important for the logo to NOT emphasise on any particular one (eg NO (foot)balls as part of the logo).
The logo should have a fresh look and feel (Web 2.0 style - however you are interpreting Web 2.0) as well as it should be suitable for the use on backgrounds with different colours.
As one of the most important parts of our newly built brand identity, it is important for the logo to be unique and memorable across various media channels (online, mobile, print, ...)
It would be an advantage if the logo also contains a symbol in addition to the lettering (which eventually can also be used on its own).
