Fern Strategy Development is a boutique consultancy that helps high-technology companies develop effective strategies to improve their revenues and profitability. We provide strategy consulting and executive education, targeting primarily software and media firms. We are based in Santa Clara, California, in the region known as Silicon Valley. “Fern” is the founder’s last name.
We need a logo design that is elegant (“less is more”), clean, relatively compact, and very memorable.
The winning designer will have the opportunity (if he/she is interested) to design business cards, stationary, and the website for this business.

The target audience are senior executives (CEOs, Presidents, Vice Presidents) in medium to large high-technology companies, particularly in software and media. The logo should invoke in the target audience the following thoughts:
PROGRESS – Movement to a goal or higher stage, advancement
INNOVATION – Creativity, differentiation, boldness
CONFIDENCE – Reliability, trust, integrity
The logo must be elegant (“less is more”), clean, relatively compact, but also creative and memorable. The logo and fonts should appeal to a professional/executive audience.
The logo will appear on business cards, stationary, and website, and thus should be legible in various sizes. The logo should be legible in color or black and white.

A design that invokes a "Fern" plant
Shadows, gradients, lens flares, or other photoshop gimmicks
Logo templates, clip art, stock designs
