Public institutions such as K-12 education must come up with radical, creative, new ideas to do more with less funding. PeopleSolve will generate these solutions by breaking down the problems into modularized pieces, thus allowing its users to independently make progress on these pieces.
"Crowdsource ideas.png" demonstrates a route we're interesting in exploring, where there are two groups of people in the logo--a bureaucrat and a large crowd. The larger group of people in the logo should try to personify attributes of wise crowds – independence, diversity of opinion and decentralization. For important information on the subject of crowdsourcing, please review this video: http://www.chaordix.com/why-crowdsource. The bureacrat's idea importance (size of lightbulb in the .png) should be shown as less than that of the crowd.
In this way, the logo would inspire our target customers (school boards, school principals, city councils, economic development boards, etc) to consider allowing a highly credible group that is not too close to the problem to have a shot at addressing the toughest issues.
Also, the logo would ideally make clear that the focus of PeopleSolve is solving socio-economic issues. We want the logo to reinforce the company name and the fact that we are a non-profit.
The current slogan for the company is too long: "Where the wisdom of our crowds transforms communities," but this info should help clarify to you our vision. Don't include it in the design.
"coverart.jpg" is a great piece of inspiration because it displays the collective intelligence that exists within a crowd of people.
Also, we attached "Scribble people.png" as well because we really liked the stylized texture. Don't feel like you need to copy that style to receive 5 stars...just some inspiration.
The winner will be required to provide an adobe illustrator (.ai) file.
