We are a small company that builds and sells houses. Our markets vary widely from neighborhood projects in Gillette, Wyoming to high end houses in the Aspen, Colorado area. We don't do the actual construction work (we contract that out) but rather find the project and finance it.
The target audience is primarily financial, banking and real estate professionals. We may or may not use this name and logo to market to the retail home buyer.
The logo needs to convey professionalism and substance without being heavy in its feel. We would like some kind of logo element along with the name -- in other words, not just a typeface-only logo. The typeface should not be especially blocky or heavy, but also not too "script-y".
The company is currently an LLC but may convert to a corporation (Inc.) later, so it would be great if the logo could be designed with an eye towards a possible eventual change from "Harpswell, LLC" to "Harpswell, Inc."
We'd like to stay away from stock clip art. Something abstract would be better than something literal (no houses or construction equipment or dollar signs).
The name Harpswell comes from an island in Maine where the owners of the company sail. However we feel it's unlikely that an island or sailing themed logo would work. We just thought we should mention where the name came from in case it might somehow spark an idea.
Please feel free to experiment with colors.
