The name Make12 comes from the example of Jesus making 12 disciples. Our aim is to do the same by various methods. Our church meets in a trendy downtown area. We hope to purchase a very cool theater in the near future. We will host film festivals and promote the music scene in our city. We are a church that is for culture and therefore do not engage in ministries that would seem "religious" or "churchy" thus spoiling an opportunity to engage those who otherwise would not be in a church. Therefore, the logo need not have any religious symbols but rather reflect the culture (explained below).
Currently, there are 1,000 people living in loft apartments in our target area. They could be described as young (20-35) professionals who value smaller business and locally owned businesses. They appreciate the arts, music (blues, jazz) and a good night out. Technology is of interest to them as well. A large percentage of them will have multiple tattoos and piercings. The target audience has an interest in reading and spending time outside in the local park. They most likely do not like church and have formed the opinion that the church is dorky and irrelevant to them.
We want you to be creative with this project. Clean, concise, and creative! Our hope is that the logo captures the essence of who we are. Again, we are about imitating Jesus in making disciples. We are for culture. We will host a big jazz concert at the end of the summer. We will own a trendy movie theater and host concerts and film festivals. At this concert we will set up easels displaying very cool pictures of ministries we do including; homeless outreach, food pantry, missions, aquaponics, home fellowships, our musicians etc.
The logo can have variations with and without the text and whatever colors you may want to use.
We want someone to see our logo and simply say, "That's cool. It's simple. I get it. I get what make12 is all about." If you need more info PLEASE LET US KNOW. We are excited to be working with you on this much needed component of our ministry endeavor. Oh, we must mention that it is our aim to start more churches. For example, we are currently looking to plant a church in Africa and the Dominican Republic. We constantly look outside the church for opportunities to make a difference. A logo that is trendy, modern, and urban will be best for us. Here are some logo sites we like.
