New M Media produces and manages internet media content. We would like to begin a re-branding process for our Dormroom Chef property, starting with logo design. Dormroom Chef is an online cooking show and social community that addresses the challenges of college cooking and helps students overcome them with fun, easy recipes. We would like to build the Dormroom Chef brand into one that is first to mind as resource for not just cooking, but college living as a whole - the Rachael Ray of college life, basically.

We aim for the Dormroom Chef brand to be a resource for college life and living. Obviously the main focus for the initial stages will be on cooking, but we have a plan to expand the brand to include other important aspects of college living. Our primary target audience therefore is college-age students, living on- or off-campus.
We are looking for a logo represent the Dormroom Chef brand and serve as a basis for the re-branding and re-design.
We would like the logo to pertain to cooking, but it should not be so specific that it limits itself to that subject.
The logo should be something that, moving forward, we can easily re-use and identify with other aspects of college living.
The logo's "personality" should be a mix of cooking (inviting, rich, bold) and college life (fun, enjoyable, slightly random).
