Wie Teemu Arina das erste logo design Abenteuer antrat
Megasignals is a joint project by three internationally known consultants and futures researchers from Helsinki, Finland. We are living a nomadic lifestyle traveling around the world writing articles and books, giving presentations at large conferences and providing advice to leading organizations on all continents. We have background in technology, media and telecommunications industries.
Erzählen Sie uns, wer Sie sind und wen Sie erreichen wollen?
Megasignals is a combination of two words: megatrends (a general shift in thinking or approach affecting countries, industries, and organizations) and weak signals (information that can foretell the changes in the future). We are currently working on a book based on the same title. Megasignals are describing major paradigm shifts in various industries affected by the internet and technological development, already visible in current trends and changes in thinking.
Our aim is to demonstrate what these major megasignals are and how various organizations should take notice and take action. Our approach is to produce a professional book and a website for business leaders, consultants and researchers for them to apply these ideas on their own field.
The logo should communicate the basic idea we want to get across: the world is changing and just like Dennis Gabor has said, the future cannot be predicted, but futures can be invented: right here are and right now. We want the logo to have more than one color, be based on vector lines, have crisp and fresh look (think: web technology startups) and include a very simple identifiable special detail in the wordmark in order to set it apart from the originating font.
Updated design drivers:
The word should be one complete word, "megasignals" or "Megasignals", not "MegaSignals" or "Mega Signals". Simple and clean, avoid too much association with RSS. Think also colors that represent change, rather than stability. The font should be serif or sans serif and include some personality: not pure helvetica but not too comic sans either :)
If we love the final design, it is very likely there will be more work available for the designer related to book cover, website, design elements and illustrations.
