We are Australia's newest (& soon to be "best") English language college, located in the heart of busy, vibrant Melbourne. We teach English to people for whom English is not their first language. The name of our college is “Discover English” and the website will be http://www.discoverenglish.com.au . We chose the name “Discover English” because our students will be discovering a new language, and, we hope, discovering new friendships, discovering a new city and country, and a new culture. We like the idea of “discovery”: it is about learning new things and it’s exciting to make discoveries, and we hope that our students will feel excited by the possibilities of studying at our college because of the potential to discover so many new things (we organise activities, tours, excursions, adventures) while also learning or improving their English language skills.
We have a great modern college with excellent teaching facilities and we also have a fantastic rooftop barbeque area with sensational views of the City. We will have social events and barbeques here every Friday afternoon so our students can mix and mingle and have fun with fellow students from all over the world. When people think of Discover English we want them to think of us as offering high quality teaching in a fun, friendly and diverse learning environment. We want people to think: ‘Serious study, serious fun”.
Overseas students visiting Australia, Working holiday visitors, Student visitors and other tourists who are looking to learn or improve their English.
Demographics: 50/50 male and female. Ages: mostly 18 – 30, but also a reasonable proportion (30%) aged over 30. Varied nationality mix – Asian (mainly Korean, Thai, Japanese, Chinese), South American (mainly Chilean, Brazilian, Argentinian), European, Central European, Turkish, Saudi etc – we expect citizens from over 50 countries to be enrolled in courses at any one time.
We want a logo that touches the "discovery" theme in a fresh, modern, contemporary way. We want something simple, fun, colourful, perhaps “earthy Australian” tones (although we are not set on this). We also want something that appeals to the I-Generation (I-Phone; I-Pod; I-Pad, etc). The logo should be unique and strong, and it should stand out.
This logo will be on our website, business cards, brochures, pamphlets, letterhead, etc so it needs to be truly representative of the college and what we are about, giving a great “first impression”.
Once the logo has been designed we would like to work on website design, company stationery and marketing materials.
Thank you in advance!
