I gravitate mostly towards the Fort Collins Beer Week logo, but there are elements of all of these that I like. I like the layout of the Fort Collins, with date range, relevant event and geographic elements (the glasses, hops with a back drop of Colorado mountains), and the simplicity but smartness of colors and contrasts. Very web 2.0 looking.
In the Minnesota example, I also like the clever layout, beer elements (hops & wheat), but also like how they incorporated the State outline. West Virginia has a very unique outline which is very recognizable so was thinking it could somehow be used.
The third attachment shows some examples of typography synonymous with West Virginia media over the years. The cursive is often used: http://goo.gl/YCYKp4 , but it's not necessary. I actually like the mountain image here in the 'Appalachian Mountains' example.
The fourth is just the WV state flag - one idea could be to use modern versions of these colors, but don't feel limited to that.
Some basic information on the state if you find it useful; state flower, bird, etc: http://www.50states.com/wvirgini.ht…QEV4hB4r5I
West Virginia's big historic industries are coal mining & farming if that comes into play.
In closing I'd love to find something that resembles the Ft. Collins example, but also incorporates the state outline, and elements relevant to the beer industry.
Look forward to finding the right one!
