The Academy of Internships Abroad
Global Vision International (http://www.gvi.co.uk/) is in the process of launching a new internships abroad division called The Academy of Internships Abroad (The Academy). The Academy provides learning experiences across the globe in a wide range of fields. We give participants the opportunity to gain invaluable practical work experience abroad, develop international contacts and experience cultural immersion opportunities that are second to none.
Our focus is internship placements with socially and environmentally responsible companies.
About the founding organization - Since our formation in 1998 Global Vision International has successfully placed over 10,000 individuals on overseas programs. From our roots as a quality volunteer abroad provider we have developed into an organization respected for its international training courses, professional internships and corporate social responsibly programs. Our team of over 200 employees is spread across the globe enabling safe, responsible and fun educational travel opportunities.
Our network of contacts and partners includes high profile companies, government organizations, international charities, not-for-profits, start ups and many other inspirational organizations. From this vast network we have access to some of the most unique, inspiring and professional international internship placements available.
Prospective Interns (UK primary; US secondary)
a. 18 - 23
b. M/F -> 65% female
c. Students and Recent Graduates (undergrad and grad)
d. Student/Graduate – no current income
e. Seeking international work experience to supplement academic qualifications or to enable a career change
f. Care about environment, responsible orgs and social issues facing our world today.
The key objective in the requested design work is to create a compelling brand that establishes credibility in the minds of our target audience so that they want to join one of our programs for an internship overseas.
The brand relationship between the existing GVI Volunteer Business (http://www.gvi.uk.co) and The Academy is tricky. GVI wants to leverage their existing brand to launch The Academy, however there are internal concerns that a “professional” for-profit internship placement business will undermine the philanthropic, “feel-good” brand of the Volunteer division. Therefore, we want to create a recognizable relationship between the brands that a former GVI Volunteer will notice and feel, while not making them so similar that it brings up ethical questions about the existing GVI Volunteer brand.
• -We are not using GVI in the title of the internships division, it will be mostly referred to as The Academy.
