This is a startup company (ok, just 2 of us, but you have to start somewhere right?) developing applications for phones, pad-type devices and other mobile/connected devices. Our apps are all over the place from utilities, to educational programs to games. Right now our focus is on "edu-tainment".
The company name can be "Humankind", "Humankind software" "Humankind.com" - or variations. We like the idea of just "Humankind" but are open to other ideas. We own both humankind.com and humankindsoftware.com.
The idea behind "Humankind" as a software company is that we develop software for PEOPLE, not for computers, if you know what I mean? We write applications with peoples' needs, ergonomics and sensibilities in mind and the computer is a tool, rather than force people to use computers on the OS's terms. Our software makes sense from a humanistic standpoint - you don't have to "know computers" to know how to make our programs work. They have a natural intuition about them that lets people focus in on the core functionality, as opposed to having to learn some alien system in order to get their device to do what is advertised.
Evocations: Simplicity, power, flexibility, excitement, entertainment, limitless possibilities, excellence, creativity, new horizons, vibrance, comfort, fun!
Everyone: Horizontal market - phone users, pad-type device users. We are mainly doing Android apps now, so we don't want an iPhone/iPod-type style (or anything directly associated with any other brand).
This is a pretty wide-open creative project. Rather than list too much, I'd lke to see what we get initially and then focus from there.
We need a classic logo/brand identity, color scheme, with some sort of stylized graphic feature that can be used on web pages and mobile devices (perhaps some sort of edge, font, treatment, unique color bar/transition, background texture, dingbat, etc. or some other element of the main logo that we can use across other materials). If you have ideas for a slogan, we'll entertain that too!
The graphics can be in vector or raster, but should be usable in Photoshop, with original, raw, high resolution versions (at least 2k-3k pixels per longest side - whatever the industry standard is for a high quality master). I'd also like a copy of any font used as the basis for lettering.
The logo will be used on web pages, printed materials, and also needs to be sized down to appear on mobile devices in low resolution (i.e. 100x300 + ) and still be readable and evocative.
I want something fun and exciting, more human than tech. The ideal logo would be organic and fun, with a unique color scheme that is widely adaptable, that also appears to have some tie-in with technology and software but isn't full of standard techy stereotype images.
Thanks for your consideration!!
