Lantern Village Association
Lantern Village Association is a nonprofit group of property owners in the Lantern Village district of Dana Point, CA, which includes many historic homes from the 1920s. The unique lanterns in the area were chosen as an icon for the town back in the '20s and are based on the city's historic connection with sea-faring from the 1830's... the exact lantern shape is unique to Dana Point and these lanterns were posted throughout the town in the 1920s.
The Lantern Village Association is a membership based nonprofit which serves as a sort community-building group and helps property owners with community improvement projects and community watch type efforts.

The logo should feel friendly... it should feel appropriate to an elderly audience and yet embody a middle-age (i.e. 35-45 year old) sensibility...
Speak directly to a 30-something but not alienate 65+ crowd.
Here's a little more visual fodder for your consideration:
[ Same image attached below. ]
The logo will have to fit in the header space of this web theme: http://LanternVillage.org (only 32 pixels high), and work in print too. It needs to be a logo + type treatment: "Lantern Village Association"
[PS -- the logo on the website is a placeholder only... not appropriate in style at all.]
Prefer vector art as final product, but we're flexible if you have a beautiful non-vector idea.
