We have several mottos that we regularly use at the Archer Foundation:
“We’re giving people a hand up, not a hand out”
“Paying it forward”
“Advancing opportunities to learn, grow and give”
These are not taglines that should be incorporated into the logo, but we hope they give you some ideas for logo imagery. We also want to be sure that the logo incorporates a human element—a human form, hands, etc. The Archer Foundation serves non-profits, families and entrepreneurs, so we want our logo to represent humanity and to feel very personal. However, it’s also important that the logo does not feel childish in any way.
• We like the simplicity of the Apple logo. (Who doesn’t?) We like that it’s a highly recognizable form that can be enhanced in different ways, but the simplicity of the apple shape is always there and always very memorable.
• We are open to the logo bug displaying to the left of the Archer Foundation name or above it. We’ve also seen some interesting logos where the bug is split above and below the text. (For example, the Case Foundation logo)
