This project is a second round of designs. While quite happy with the first design winner and many of the designs submitted we are intersted in a different take on the design for this round.
Global Imagination makes the Magic Planet™ digital video globe - the digital display with a sphere shaped screen. We will be renaming this product for the education and consumer markets to iWorld. The Magic Planet/iWorld is to the standard old globe of yester-year as the iPhone is to rotary dial phones. It is high-tech - extremely cool - and highly effective as a teaching tool for anything with a a global context or planetary in nature. Global Imagination has been selling the Magic Planet primarily to premier museums, aquariums and planetariums around the world and currently uses an identity that feels dated, low-tech and decidedly un-cool. We are planning a major launch into the education market positioning the product with interactive white boards and other new technologies making tremendous strides into schools around the planet.
Our markets include government agencies like NASA, premium museums like The Smithsonian and corporate customers like Intel. We are planning a major launch into the worldwide education market. Because the content is digital it can be developed for elementary schools through university research departments. The primary buyers will be Education Departments within the government when centralized and to state education groups and school administrators in countries less centralized but the users will be teachers and most importantly students and should have its greatest appeal with them.
We want an EVOLUTION of our current logo, THREE elements must remain; an icon with an EYE, a EARTH/GLOBE/PLANET and the company name Global Imagination. The fonts and the icon should feel more modern and embrace technology. It must convey that the cornerstone of our business is a digital video globe, that this is an amazing new technology; a visualization device for anything global or planetary in nature and speak to the idea of education. We must have the flexibility to use the logo in a number of ways and on a variety surfaces and colors. Be creative with the solutions - please avoid globe depictions too similar to ATT, Google Earth, etc.
03-08-14 GI plaque final - shows our existing logo, although it is not necessary to include the website in your new design.
03-04-07 Logo - shows the icon used alone. The design of the icon is important because it must often stand alone.
Global Imagination - is the winning submission from our last project, while we still like the logo - more modern, communicates digital and technology we are interested in including the "eye" as per our existing logo and making "visualization" a key communication.
