Dog Meets World is a combination of a few elements: photography, worldtravel, and of course, our stuffed mascot pup.
The Dog in DMW'spurpose is two fold: one, to unite each image with our brand - that waythey aren't just pictures of random children. And two, to havesomething cute and memorable to help people remember the project, andto get the children engaged.
However, as a friend of the project says, we dont want dog overkill, to remember thatthis is first and foremost a project about "Take and Give Photography."We want to illustrate the photography element, using the dog as a sortof a bearer of photos, bringing them to the world. "Fetching fotos forthe planet's children," was an early tagline.
In addition to this, the project is mainly going to be viewedthrough a website, so the logo should be alittle "web 2.0" - as clean, friendly, and simple as possible. Also, itshould be horizontal with the "badge" to the left of the name (orincluded in the name if you come up with something good!). In thefuture, in addition to t-shirts and the usual company paraphernalia, the logo will likely appear on the photos themselves, in a corner or something, so it should be able to workmono-chromatically / as an outline.
By the way, the copy itself should say: Dog Meets World ..and the tagline should be.. The Global Photo Project (capitalsoptional for everything).
Update: Also, we failed to mention approximately what the dog should look like. To see an example of the dog we are using, visit
We do not wish to emulate this exactly! The ears of the stuffed dog, for instance, look too crazy. This should only be a guideline for color scheme, etc. (note the dog's collar is red #cc3333). FYI, the actual dog, from which the project drew inspiration, is a black and white cock-a-poo.
