Rich Lavigne Photography
Hello... I'm Rich Lavigne, but I am only half of Rich Lavigne Photography. My other half is my wife, Anne Young. Together, we strive to provide fun and unique wedding photography to our couples. We love to find out who they are, what makes them tick and then incorporate that into our style. We also run a candid children's portrait photography business under my wife's name (http://www.anneyoungphoto.com). We started our wedding business in 2008 and at the time, I created our logo and branding. It was fine at the time, but I feel that our style and brand has naturally developed into something that is younger, fresher and more unique than what our "standard" elegant/classy wedding logo now depicts. I'm looking for THAT logo and I hope you guys can help. I feel that our current logo says slacks and dress shoes and I wear jeans and custom, limited edition Nike's. You can check out my current site and logo at http://www.richlphotography.com but please don't base your designs on that logo. I'm looking for something that is much different, almost the opposite of what you see. I plan on re-doing my website to coordinate with my new logo
Our target audience is primarily women. The logo needs to appeal to women under the age of 35, but not be overtly feminine. I want the men to be able to forward it to their friends and be proud of the cool photographers they hired for their wedding. It should be something that looks fresh, cool, and hip. It should have a hidden flare for fashion.
The logo should use the words "Rich" "Lavigne" and "Photography" If possible an "R" and an "L" or even a P. I attempted to find my new logo myself, but just can't seem to get what I see in my head. I've attached those failed attempts for you. I like the mixed look of the different thickness fonts, but I can't seem to find the font I like. They also look a little too architectural or engineering to me. Hopefully it provides some direction as to where I want to go. I want to use the colors white, black, gray and teal/turquoise. What gave me the original idea was a template on http://www.bludomain.com. If you click on "websites" then "$100", check out the Lola template. I tend to like something that has hard edges as opposed to curves, but throw your best ideas at the board. I've also attached a picture that shows Anne's new logo so you can get a feel for the direction we are heading in. It doesn't have to match that, but it should have a similar vibe.
I don't want to use pictures, or anything that looks like a camera or aperture. I don't want it to say "wedding"
I'll need the logo in a vector format for scaling and also a large raster file, maybe 8.5x11 canvas at 300 dpi in psd format.
Good Luck and Thanks.
