I used 99 Designs a year and a half ago to create the first version of my logo. I like it a lot, but I feel like we can do better. You can either polish the existing one, or go in a new direction. I love the retro design style and the play on the barbershop pole. The pole in my current logo is fantastic. Please avoid designing around on the "Labs" part though. I don't want/need "Labs" symbolism in the logo.
I want something simple, crisp, and easily identifiable. The barbershop pole is important, but beyond that, less symbolism is better. I don't want a lots of unnecessary lines, stars, swirls, etc. A perfect circle or square/rectangle is preferable (as opposed to non-standard shapes or something with jagged edges). I'm not a fan of the "burst" look, and I'd prefer to not have the "ribbon" look. (I have no idea if either of those are the right terms, if you need more detail, I'm help to explain, or provide examples). The typography is important. The colors are important.
Please shoot me any questions. I'll be quick to respond.
