The name of the product is SoberQuick. Our intention was to do a contest that consists of a logo and product label, but no such package currently exists so we’re starting with just a logo and including some additional instructions for a packaging label. Once we’ve accepted a logo, we will then roll the winning designer over to a package label and other jobs upcoming.

On the label under the name “SoberQuick” we would like to see “Sobriety Accelerator” as a sub-description and then our product claim which is the most important part: “Helping drunk people get sober up to twice as fast” or less bluntly: “Helping reduce drunkenness up to twice as fast”. In addition to the FDA information, we need to include product instructions for use. There are also a number of legal disclaimers and warnings that need to be put on the backside of the label in addition to the ingredients, such as it’s not to be ingested by diabetics. Always Drink Responsibly. Never Drink and Drive. Fortunately, the packets will be of a reasonable size because of the larger amount of powder that will be included. Imagine 2/3 to 1/2 the size of an MRP sachet. We will also need a box design.

The product is composed of single servings containing 70 grams of powder that dissolves quickly in about 12 ounces water. The all-natural proprietary ingredients act in conjunction with the body’s natural alcohol elimination system speeding it up so that alcohol is metabolized and removed from the body more rapidly then normal. Rates vary from person-to-person but in some cases it works up to 100% (2x) faster then normal. Both published and unpublished clinical studies have been done to verify these results. People that have consumed large amounts of alcohol would likely need to ingest two servings. We’d like to make it clear somewhere on the label that if someone is extremely drunk they will require two servings. The single serving would need to be contained in some type of pouch or sachet with adhesive labels during the early phases of development until a permanent solution can be achieved. Anyone who drinks alcohol would be considered the customer base; however, for the purposes of marketing and brand identity, the target market for this product is college students and millennials.

We’d like to start with a little higher-end branding approach than something like a 5-Hour Energy or many of the discount hangover cure products which scream “Buy me at the 7-Eleven or gas station” which is why I slid the bar a bit closer to luxury than economical. We are considering offering the product at bars and night clubs in Las Vegas where we will be conducting our pilot program and hopefully, after establishing some traction, trickle down to drug stores, grocery, etc. and eventually convenience stores and gas stations. Whoever is awarded the job will have options for further design work building the product label, business cards, box design, T-Shirt logos, social media work, etc. As a final important note: Please take a look at our competition’s website: http://shop.soberup.com.
