A new logo would coincide with a new website. Current beta: http://bit.ly/cmcbeta
Our new brand (and logo) should reflect theological substance, historical rootedness, generosity in our community, and diversity within our congregation. We are located in a great, cultural village on the edge of Chicago. It's the home of Hemingway and Frank Lloyd Wright. Thus, a minimal, clean design with good use of negative space and an urban feel would be a good fit.
Brand attributes: humble, academic, honest, timeless, progressive, complicated.
Associations: stained glass, mosaics, adoption, sacrament, an old hymn set to a new tune, an Intelligentsia coffee shop.
IMPORTANT: Please avoid cliché church logos of cross shapes, a sprouting plant, doves, books, or people with outstretched arms. We're also looking for a strong typeface like Futura or Gotham. Thanks.
The attached is a logo prototype that utilizes our iconic stained glass windows and represents our diversity. Feel free to build upon it or go with a completely different idea.
