Hello to all designers,
I am looking for a beautiful logo that is simple, elegant and beautiful. That shows excellent craftsmanship and timeless design. It can be totally unique or your modern interpretation of a classic symbol.
I want to it to look like a real object. Make it as 3D as possible.
Ideally it can also be used as a stamp/brand to burn into wood as in #237 .
Please visit http://www.woodalchemy.com/woods to see good examples of unique Australian timbers. I am also trying to source high resolution images too. Let me know if this will be helpful to your design.
When using the sample images try to pick out the most interesting sections of the wood.
Huon Pine - grain (the close lines) and spots
Tiger Myrtle - dark and light contrasting sections
Jarrah Burl - lots of cracks and flaws
Fiddleback Blackwood - Wavy and silky
Eucalyptus Burl - detail
Please show me different wood combinations with your designs.
I like the polished look and also the mirror effect.
Our slogan is "Live the wood life"
The logo must represent what we do, not where we're from. The more elegant and modern the logo is, the more the business quality perception will be. My initial brief required the use of an Australian icon but I now feel that this is less important. It may still be present but not essential and certainly not cliched.
My business represents many woodworkers from all around Australia, united together. I feel this is the direction I would like to see explored.
I would like to see more designs that uses the "Russian Rings". 3 rings interlocked, each in contrasting wood colors and grains. Perhaps 5 rings. A design representing the unity of the many woodworkers from across Australia.
I also like the designs with an optical illusion.
Ultimately, the winning logo will be simple, elegant, modern and timeless.
Any unique ideas of your own will also be appreciated.
Australian Eucalyptus trees have beautiful leaves also known as gum leaves and these could be incorporated into the logo or font, perhaps forming the A in Australia.
Let your imagination run wild! I am open to new concepts and ideas. Any questions just let me know.
Thanks for participating, I appreciate your efforts and will be here until the contest ends following your progress and giving you feedback along the way.
Also, the contest winner may also be invited to help in the design of our new online store.
