Hewar, a Social Communications Company
I'm a American young professional new to Washington, DC. I am an Arabist (study Arab culture), world traveler, global thinker, patriotic American, equestrian & cultural diplomacy enthusiast.
I have five years of communications experience that encompasses mostly public relations with a focus on digital & social media, but also includes creative development, advertising, media relations, corporate communications, online media planning, buying & analytics, research and event planning. So far I've worked with two big US PR/Ad agencies.
I'm just starting my first business as I'm carving out a niche for myself in the area of public diplomacy - specifically US-Arab relations.
My LLC business name is "Hewar, a Social Communications Company." Hewar in Arabic means dialouge, which lends itself nicely with my passion for US-Arab relations. I have the "a Social Communications Company" part as I want to continue to focus on social media such as Facebook, Twitter and making Web sites more "social."
My target clients will be Washington, D.C.-based organizations such as: non-profits focusing on US-Arab relations or international relations, Governments, think tanks and academic & cultural institutions.
A lot of my business will be generated through my many professional relationships/contacts. A lot of them are not familiar with working with a PR or Ad agency, sending out RFPs (requests for proposals), etc. In many cases, they will not know what communications solution they even need. I anticipate a lot of hand-holding.
These people are very busy and have huge social & professional networks. I need something that will cut through all the clutter and get their attention, while resonating with their culture and profession.
I prefer an arabesque looking graphic along with the name Hewar. Beneath the tag line, a Social Communications Company. Similar to this company's logo and word treatment http://www.gaiam.com/.
I do have some things in mind; I want it to be Middle Eastern looking. Most of my target clients will be in Middle East affairs, but perhaps some won't, so I don't want it to be so Middle East looking that it limits me. Maybe using squiggly graphics would be good.
I'm open to color schemes, but like the following: Rustic orange on a white background, silver on a navy blue background, Navy blue on a silver background, gold on a white background or yellow and blue. Out of these, I think gold on white background is my favorite as I'm going for a simple yet classy & professional, Middle Eastern-ish look and culturally this color resonates well with Arabs.
