I am a licensed landscape architect specializing in residential design but I also do some commercial design work as well. I strive to create designs that blend into the space well but are also unique and unexpected. I like to emphasize shapes and pattern and create an overall experience for the homeowner.
My clients are homeowners that want to improve their outdoor living spaces. The intent, of course, varies from client to client but most people want a pretty yard enhanced with shrubs, trees and flowers and an inviting place to dine and/or sit outside. I have designed patios, decks and other hardscape elements for my clients.
Some of the spaces I design are an extension of the house- a pathway leading to an outdoor kitchen and pool deck, for example. Some spaces call for a "secret garden" or meandering garden path in a backyard. And many clients mainly want their front yard to look neat and tidy and beautiful with the addition of flowering shrubs, evergreen shrubs and trees that enhance the architecture of their house.
I have recently been working on more playground spaces for children as well. So, I don't want to only emphasize single family residential design.
I want to convey the sense that I can create any outdoor space for my client, tailoring to their needs and making it very functional, while designing with an artistic eye that focuses on the overall composition of the design.
I'd really like my logo to convey a sense of artistry, great composition, organic feel, maybe the logo growing out of the name- Artful Outdoors.
