umpaweb is a startup that will be delivering affordable, social, web packages to clients worldwide. We are a couple of people with loads of experience at top companies, have created and sold companies and now want to share our knowledge in an affordable way to small businesses that are a little behind the curve.
Why Umpa, if you are like us and recall childhood stories fondly then you will know Charlie & the Chocolate Factory. We loved the Umpa Lumpas and their chocolate making abilities and want to bring aspects of that story into umpaweb. The tag line will be something like "golden tickets to delicious websites" and we will be running a "web factory" building fantastic websites for great small businesses and individuals.
We are really excited about this venture, there are some truly fantastic small businesses out there that lack the knowledge and or the time to create an efficient online presence that drives them customers. We will be taking our years of knowledge and passion for the web and creating affordable packages for our clients.
A lot of our customers will also need custom designs so we are looking for designers that we can establish a long term relationship with, especially if you have experience working with Wordpress/Joomla/etc.
We are talking to small business and individuals that do not have a web presence or want to improve their current site.
We will be driving people to our site both through online and more traditional methods. When they see our site they need to see something that inspires them, builds trust, looks clean and simple and it has to have an element of fun to it, after all growing your business and interacting with clients is fun and should not be hard work.
We are also in this for the small guys, the small business and individuals so don't give this an old corporate feel!
Require design for 6 pages, more later on but lets start here.
Attached are some simple wireframes, we created these to outline functionality we require, we are not designers or UI experts so please bring your creative flair and knowledge. The focus should be on minimalist navigation, avoid redundancies, and a focus on driving two calls-to-action: (1) clicking to view the website designs/examples we provide (2) making a purchase.
Home page has area for our packages, on hover should see an enlarged shot of the picture, similar to how the mouse over action works on pages like this: http://www.mojo-themes.com/wordpress/
Packages overview page will have a submenu that displays the industries we provide services to, clicking on this will display the details of the package.
Demo page is simple heading with room to iframe another site in. Make it clear how to get back home, similar to how the iframes work here: http://www.mojo-themes.com/demo/des…ess-theme/.
Color schemes in the attached pdf we like and would prefer you use, but with flexibility based on what color schemes you think work best:
Good luck, look forward to your designs.
