We Got Served
We Got Served is a tech website covering computer and associated tech news, product reviews and community discussion.
We're relaunching the website in January with a new design and a different format for our product reviews. The site design is almost complete, and we need some design support for an element of our new product review format.
You can view a test version of the new website here: http://www.wegotserved.com/poppy/
Male, tech-savvy digital enthusiasts - these people want to know about the latest products, but want our advance on picking the winners.
As part of our product review process, the highest rated products will receive one of three awards.
We need an icon for each of the awards, which will be published on the website at end of a review in a ratings table.
The icons need to reflect the branding of the website and fit in with the overarching design (in terms of typeface and colour palette). The icons should sit together as a family, and a preference hierarchy should be communicated (ie. Most Wanted is better than Highly Recommended, which is better than Recommended). It's a typical "Gold, Silver, Bronze" thing, but you're free to use colours other than those should you wish.
We want the site to look clean, fresh and modern, so whilst I'm not banning the kind of "scroll" graphics you often see on these types of awards, the icons need to look contemporary.
The icons may appear in product advertising and on product boxes in the future, so the We Got Served logo should be prominent in the icon design. The icons should also feel special - we won't give these away easily, so they need to have prestige.
Attached is a copy of a ratings table concept that will appear at the bottom of the review - should a product win one of the awards, it will appear on the right hand side next to the large final score. Logos attached.
