Meet the Team:
A native Oregonian, Ben Droukas started his real estate 15 years ago in Portland, OR and is recognized as one of the top real estate experts in the area by his peers. He has earned a wealth of knowledge in all aspects of real estate, having sold over 3,000 homes. Prior to his career with Keller Williams, Ben worked as a Sales and Marketing Manager for one of Oregon’s largest homebuilders. He graduated from Jesuit High School and earned his BA in Marketing from Oregon State University. He is married with three children, Sophia, Nick and Alex and currently lives in the Multnomah Village area of SW Portland.
Ben’s proudest real estate moment: ‘I worked with a client a few years ago who was about to get foreclosed on. It was an older woman who didn’t understand the process and the bank was not communicating her options to her. She was about to lose her home and walk away with a few thousands dollars from the bank. I stepped in and took her house to market, got her multiple offers above asking price and she walked away with $260,000. We still keep in touch and she always sends me a Christmas card, to this day!”
Bennet van der Genugten
Bennet was born in the Netherlands and grew up in the Midwest where he learned at an early age competing was a part of his DNA. Before beginning his sales career Bennet was a 10X US National Champion and professional athlete in cycling. Prior to joining Keller Williams Bennet was an orthopaedic surgical sales consultant and commercial banker. This rising star sold $16MM in his first year in real estate, $25mm in his second year and is tracking for $40mm in 2018.
Bennet’s proudest real estate moment: ‘I helped a local family sell their land to a developer last year, after they’d tried for years to sell on their own. I worked with the developer to get the approvals from the city to build a new 19 lot subdivision. It was a long grind, almost a year before we closed, but by the end I’d helped my client negotiate their family name as the subdivision title to remain a part of their legacy in Portland and take away almost a million dollars to head into retirement.’
