What stand the name xsegno for. Well it is a play on words. The first
part 'xse' is a play with the character 'x' used in the acronyms IX /
UX and the swiss german word for 'gsee' that stands for 'to see' or
'what the user is seeing'. The second part 'segno' is an Italian word
for 'sign, indication, character, etc.' but is also a part of the Italian
word 'disegno' which stand for 'design'.
A part of our philosophie is, that software development is not about
technology. It is all about the user, their needs and making their work
enjoyable and as easy as possible. So we try to simplify the interaction
with existing systems or make new software (web/desktop/app) as
simple as possible to grasp. This how we essentially interpret the word
design and the reason why it is a part of the company name.
All in the company have a technical background but all of us are addicted
to user interfaces and few of us have also a human computer interaction
design background. Our Italian in the team is design maniacs but not
a visual designer.
Goal: We are looking to develop a logo showing that we are an modern, fresh, openminded company. We love to play with technology and provide enjoyable
solutions. We want to appear professional but not mainstream or bland.
▪ more than one color is allowed but not mandatory
1. We would like to develop a figure / icon like logo which that can also be use without the name but attracts the viewer to take a second sight. Idea behind this
is the figure on own side of the business card. Needs to turn it to get information.
Styles we don't feel confident with:
▪ vintage style logos
▪ heavy uppercase fonts
