A common image used by the autism community is puzzle pieces. This is meant to communicate that people with autism are a mystery, and that they have "pieces" missing. This is NOT appropriate imagery for my book. If you have a creative way to communicate a integral whole that has puzzle pieces, that's fine. Otherwise, do not use them.
The story centers around three children with similar diagnoses, but very different needs. The working premise of my platform is that my three children provide me with a broader understanding of autism, because they are on different places on the autism spectrum.
Designs that communicate a spectrum, understanding, love and family are welcome. I look forward to seeing what you come up with. Once initial designs have been created, I will include my name/logo to be included on either the front or back cover (or the spine), depending on where it would best complement the cover design.
