Title: Collapsity. Subtitle (especially optional as could be too wordy for cover): When All Falls Down At Once. By: Richard Diefenbeck, Jr.
Collapsity follows several characters as climate change exacerbates many of humanity's problems all over the world. There is Tip Wire, the ex-internet guru at an impasse when he launches on a plan of mass elucidation, the East Indian med student who works as a cam girl on the side, a pair of psychopath rich twins, a middle-aged fitness guru facing divorce and several more - all propelled out of their usual trajectories by the great upheaval of mass change. "A band of survivors" . . . yaddayaddayadda - boom! Utopia!
Collapsity really is a book about ideas masquerading as an action-adventure. "Seeds. Just planting seeds." - as Bill Hicks said. A fictionalized account of what will happen when the worldwide average temp goes up three degrees Celsius.
Apocalyptic, ecopunk, sci-fi. Looking for more of a literary look than a typical genre look. Dystopia turns into utopia. In the end, more Ecotopia than Fallout. Also a satiric element is possible, ala Terry Southern. Sex always sells. And I like neon. Or it could be completely conceptual, a piece of art you have to turn your head to look at as you softly whistle. I look forward to seeing what a great designer could come up with.
