The iCongressman is the sequel to the book The iCandidate. The cover of the first book got rave reviews and I would like to keep many of the design aspects of it. I would like this project to have the same feel. Items I would like to maintain continuity with:
- Capitol dome
- networking icons (similar concept, slightly different icons)
- Similar fonts
I love the red and blue hues to the storm clouds in the image I uploaded. As this is a book about the political rift between parties, I'd like to see how this can be incorporated.
I love the crack moving down the dome in the same image. I would like to see if someone can make it look real, almost as if the building is crumbling.
I like the watermarked House of Representatives image over the capitol. Probably would work better on the back cover, but would love to see how something like that can be done.
I am open to other ideas, and will be providing plenty of feedback along the way as to what I like and don't like. The key is the cover needs to stand out as a thumbnail image like seen on sites like Amazon. That means the title must be readable and the cover must attract the eye.
Lastly, the author name should be about twice the size it was on the first book And I would like an American flag incorporated somewhere on the back cover (last book was at the top, and it looked great!
Design is 6"x9" trade paperback with a 0.125" bleed and a 1" spine. The book is still in editing, so a final page count is not available but should be around 450 pages.
Back cover material is located in the uploaded Word document.
Author name is Mikael Carlson
The "i" of The iCongressman must be lowercase.
I need a variety of images, including the full book w/ back cover, a front-only for Amazon, a 3d version for marketing. I usually draw from them to create social media marketing materials, etc.
I also give credit for the cover on the copyright page and in the acknowledgements, along with on my social media sites. If the winning designer has website, I will be happy to include it with their permission.
